Microsoft Corporation has the following job opportunity:

Design, develop, modify, or evaluate electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, or systems related to Microsoft technologies. Research, design, develop, test, or monitor the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems that support Microsoft technologies. Develop test plans in the preparation and execution of design testing or prototype fabrication. Analyze designs and devices to establish operating parameters, conduct experimental tests through both simulation and physical evaluation, and perform analyses on data generated from test results to verify and validate whether operating parameters are met. Identify root causes for technical issues, flaws, and design challenges, and develop and implement solutions. May select device materials and components based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May generate documentation related to designs, including development status, technical specifications, functionality, materials, compatibility with other devices, and testing procedures. Telecommuting permitted 50% or more per week within same geographic location as assigned Microsoft office location.

Minimum Requirements

• EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; Computer Engineering; or related field.
• EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Two years of experience designing, developing, and evaluating electrical equipment and circuitry.
• SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: This role requires at least 12 months of experience in: Distributed Systems; Analyzing Equipment Reliability, Redundancy, and Availability; Breakers; and education or experience in: Uninterruptable Power Supply; Battery Storage System Familiarity; Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) and Generator Paralleling Controls; and System Protection and Automation.

Pay Range and Benefits Information

The offered base pay range for this specific position (job code: TSKBS17930), in Leesburg, VA, is $157,000 to $187,000.

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
